August 2019 – Meat Distribution to the poorest of the poor at their doorstep on Eid- ul- Adha

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and in an effort to bring joy to the families of orphans, widows and the needy, Lifeline Foundation, in partnership with the Project Smile and Adha Services had started a campaign to distribute sacrificial meat to poor and needy people in various slum regions in Bengaluru.A total number of 91 sacrifice sheep were been made available for the occasion by Project Smile, targeting more than 1000 beneficiaries. Total 600 Kgs of meat had been distributed to the families in several slum of Bengaluru. The branches of Lifeline like Avalahalli and TilakNagar alone got 150 packets to distribute. The slaughter and preparation of the sacrificed animal was carried out in healthy slaughter houses that were inspected and supervised by veterinarians. For this, qualified butchers were brought. While the Project Smile’s officials gave special attention to hygiene and clothing including gloves and sweaters in order to guarantee the good quality of the meat.
