Eye Checkup Camp

The Lifeline Foundation Trust and Humane Touch Trust in collaboration with Shifa Hospital organised an Eye Check-up Camp for underprivileged communities at S J Foundation on 18 March 2018 from 9 am to 1 pm.The objective of this camp was to spread awareness on eye disorders, early detection of ailments, and to detect refractive errors and provide corrective glasses free of cost to the underprivileged communities.

A team of 10 members from Shifa hospital were visited the venue. Eye specialists Dr Syed Kaleemullah and Dr Sajjad Ahmed attended to 247 patients. The beneficiaries attending the free eye camp were evaluated for vision (refractive error) and eye ailments. Those requiring surgery especially cataract were advised surgery, and Shifa hospital will be conducting these at subsidized costs.

Overall 247 individuals was screened for eye diseases, 172 Glasses were noted down to give the patients with refractive errors and more than 20 patients were identified for Cataract surgery. Some of the people were also provided eye drops for eye lubrication and free medicines.
