Ayesha is a woman of Lifeline’s Eidgah-A-Jadeed branch.  In one of my visit to her home, I learned how she struggles to earn a daily living for her family. Ayesha, a women of 30 years and a mother of 2 kids, is studying at government school. She specializes in placing stones on abayas along with her husband. Together they earn about Rs 60 a day and a total of Rs 3600 per month. With a rent of Rs 1500 per month, health, education and other expenses are difficult to manage. She went to money lenders and fell victim to their interest rate schemes.

After joining Lifeline, she found herself in a better place and remains confident about not falling further into debt. With the soft loan from Lifeline she is slowly coming out of her earlier debts. She has also decided to start saving for her children to to go to a private school next year.
