Nov 2020 – Lifeline organizes its 38th Health Camp to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava

A free medical health check-up camp was organised by The Lifeline Foundation Trust in collaboration with Quba educational and Welfare Trust on 1st November 2020 from 9 am to 1 pm at Quba Masjid, BTM Layout. The main objective of the camp was to bring affordable healthcare and free health information to the community and identify the common health problems of the in order to prevent larger health expenditure by the poor.

A special team of Specialist Doctors, Consultants and Nurses from Shifaa Hospital volunteered their time and conducted free consultations and check-ups. Specialists such as Dr Md Shujauddin Akhil (Nephrologist), Dr Md  Ziauddin Sarkhil (General physician), Dr Sadiq Sheriff (Cardiologist) DrAsma Tabassum (General physician) and Dr Ashraf (Gastroentrolgist) attended to around 100 beneficiaries who came to the Health Camp.

In addition to consultation, Blood Sugar level, BMI measurement was also carried out on all the attendees to help identify hypertension, diabetes, anaemia and obesity. Patients were also given free medicines worth of Rs 20,000 based on the doctors prescriptions.

Moreover, Mercy Booth (Guruppanpalya) from Mercy Mission helped in screening of Blood Pressure, Temperature and SPo2 of the patients who visited the camp. They also distributed pamphlets and help cards to contact in covid emergencies. 

Furthermore, the medical camp provided opportunities to both medical and non-medical personnel to give back to the community by way of volunteering their time, energy and expertise. Over 15 men and women set aside their personal engagements and spent their holiday serving the needy in various capacities. It is because of a combined team effort that the medical camp was a success.
