A free health Check-up camp was organised by The Lifeline Foundation Trust , Al Noor Bait-ul- Maal Trust and Bismillah Educational Trust in collaboration with Shifa Hospital on 15th July 2018 from 9 am to 2 pm at B E T Campus, Bismillah Nagar.

The main objective of the camp was to bring affordable healthcare and free health information to the community and identify the common health problems of the community in order to prevent larger health expenditure by the poor.
A special team of Specialist Doctors, Consultants and Nurses volunteered their time and conducted free consultations and check-ups. Specialists from the fields of Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Physiotherapy, dermatology, Audiometry, Ophthalmology, Dental attended to around 1034 beneficiaries who came to the Health Camp.

The camp also focused to spread awareness on eye disorders, early detection of ailments, and to detect refractive errors and provide corrective glasses free of cost to the underprivileged communities. The beneficiaries were evaluated for vision (refractive error) and eye ailments. Those requiring surgery especially cataract was advised surgery, and Shifa Hospital will be conducting these at Free of costs. Overall 367 individuals were screened for eye diseases, 251 Glasses were noted down to give the patients with refractive errors and more than 20 patients were identified for Cataract surgery. Some of the people were also provided eye drops for eye lubrication and free medicines.

In addition to this free Blood Pressure check, Blood Sugar level, BMI measurement was carried out on all the attendees to help identify hypertension, diabetes, anaemia and obesity. Patients were also offered free medicines worth of Rupees 28000. Furthermore, the medical camp provided opportunities to both medical and non-medical personnel to give back to the community by way of volunteering their time, energy and expertise. Over 60 men and women especially the girls from NSS unit BET College set aside their personal engagements and spent their holiday serving the needy in various capacities. It is because of the combined team effort that the medical camp was a success.
