August 2021 – Microfinance activity picks up in Q2 of 2021

One of the key missions of The Lifeline Foundation (TLF) is to empower the poor by providing funds, resources, guidance and support in an ethical manner so that they may become financially strong. At TLF, we offer interest free microfinance for income generating activities. Our loans provided funds to micro-entrepreneurs to operate their businesses without the burden of expensive interest payments and free them from the clutches of the money-lenders. They are therefore able to enjoy the fruits of their hard work themselves and build their businesses and savings.

The microfinance activity, and also the micro-economy, has been badly affected by the lockdowns and pandemic. Operations in 2 of the last 4 quarters were badly affected by prevailing situation. In Q2, there was marginal recovery, and TLF has disbursed 430 Loans totalling to Rs 31 lakhs. Loan collection has also been stable in the last two quarters.
