March 2023 – Destitute Drive #21: Bringing Hope to 6 Families During Ramadan

As the holy month of Ramadan commenced, Lifeline held its Destitute Drive #21 on Friday, March 31st, 2023, in Govindpur. This drive exemplifies our unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable families even during significant religious occasions. We are proud to announce that with this drive, our “Lifeline for the Destitute” program has surpassed a major milestone – empowering over 250 families!

Lifeline’s Destitute Program bridges the gap for those facing extreme hardship, including widows, elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and families struggling with poverty. We guide them in identifying suitable income-generating opportunities and equip them with the resources needed to achieve economic stability.

On this special occasion, we were delighted to extend support to 6 families:

  • 3 Pushcarts: These mobile vendors, equipped with weighing scales and stocked with fruits and vegetables, provide a convenient and income-generating opportunity.
  • 1 Petty Shop Setup: This permanent location empowers a family to establish a thriving business and cater to a wider customer base.
  • 1 Plastic Shop Material: This allows a family to venture into the sale of plastic products, expanding their business potential.
  • 1 Case of Fruit Material: This equips a family to kickstart their fruit vending business.

Following our commitment to comprehensive support, each business venture received an investment of approximately ₹16,000, along with a one-month ration kit to ensure their immediate needs were met. The average expenditure per family was ₹15,000.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous donors, especially Mrs. Neelufar and her team, along with our dedicated volunteers and well-wishers. Their unwavering support is the backbone of our success in empowering these families.

253 Families and Counting…

With Destitute Drive #21, the “Lifeline for the Destitute” initiative has now transformed the lives of a total of 253 families. Witnessing the newfound hope and determination in their eyes is the greatest reward for our team. As always, we are guided by the belief that “The most destitute person in the world is the one without a smile,” and we remain dedicated to bringing smiles back to our beneficiaries, one family at a time.
