North Care Medical Center in association with The Lifeline Foundation organised a free Eye Check-up, urology and Breast Awareness health camp on 24th February at Iqra Nursery, primary and High School next to the compound of Masjid e Aala, R T Nagar, Bengaluru.

Breast Cancer is the leading cancer among women, but there is still lack of awareness about it. We invited all women for a free awareness programme and consultation by a lady surgeon for all general surgical and breast related problems. Our mission was to help those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services. Breast health information was delivered, and clinical breast examinations (CBEs) were performed. When appropriate, ultrasound imaging, fine-needle aspirate (FNA) diagnoses, core biopsies, and onward referrals were provided by general surgeon-Dr. Sariya Mohammadi j (MBBS, MS, fellowship in breast diseases). A total of 60 Women were enrolled in the breast camp out of which three cases were identified for the immediate surgeries. One case was referred to Pray foundation and other two cases will be sponsored by The Life line Foundation.

As many as 50 patients of various urinary disorders were consulted by Urologist- Dr. Syed Zahid Raza (MBBS,MS,MCH). These include patients of Prostate enlargement, Kidney and Gall Bladder Stone, Hernia and few patients of various urinary disorders. The primary aim was to create Awareness of urological disease. It is estimated that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by a urology condition in our lifetime. Our urology health is vital to our quality of life. But diseases and cancers of the kidneys, bladder, prostate and the male reproductive system are becoming more prevalent and devastating the lives of millions of men, women and children in India. Through the camp we focused on raising awareness to breakdown stigma and encourage people to actively take care of their urology health.

Eye Specialists Dr Syed Zulfiquar and Dr Dayanand Murthy attended to 200 patients. The beneficiaries attending the free eye camp were evaluated for vision (refractive error) and eye ailments. Those requiring surgery especially cataract were advised surgery, and North Care Medical Center will be conducting these at subsidized costs. Overall 160 individuals were screened for eye diseases, 93 Glasses were given to the patients with refractive errors and more than 05 patients were identified for Cataract surgery. Some of the people were also provided eye drops for eye lubrication and free medicines. We thank all the members of Masjid Committee for supporting us. May God bless each and every one who were part of this initiative.
