Bengaluru: The Lockdown and post lockdown situation was unprecedented. It has affected the provision of food for a huge number of people who are living on the streets. On 28th Sept. 2020 Lifeline Foundation in association with Mercy Mission commenced a “Free Bread Drive” for poor and needy across the city. The drive was concentrated in northern parts of the city. Areas like Govindpura, Nagawara, Ring road, Veerannapalya and Hennur were covered under the drive. Around 80 to 200 packets of bread were distributed daily on these days. Lifeline has completed 38 days of the drive and distributed around 4000 packets of bread in these areas. BBMP Pourakarmikas, the real heroes who worked tirelessly to keep the city clean, who are in the forefront were also given the bread regularly. Lifeline North Lead Nilufar and her team coordinated and executed the whole drive successfully. We are thankful to the donors who supported this initiative and contributed generously.
